Report on Night of Shanghai 2007

Hi everybody,

Night of Shanghai 2007 (Sat March 3rd) made last night an unforgettable night.

Grand Palace Restaurant did a fine job in providing food for a whopping 20 tables, and we all enjoyed the dishes.

The most notable performances were by the little ones. The young generation of SJTU-SV certainly impressed many with their song, poem, as well as dance, and brought smiles to all faces in the dining hall.

The highlight of the night was the round of dialect puzzles. From the easiest puzzle in Cantonese to the hardest ones from Wenzhou and Fujian that stumped everyone, each dialect was unique, and the choice of the puzzle was fun and entertaining. For those who guessed them right, kudos!

Other performances included songs by a fine group of sharply dressed gentlemen, a drama by Minmin Yu (FDAANC) and James Jin (SJTU-SV) (script by Monica Xu, FDAANC), and a most fascinating traditional Chinese dance by the professionals.

If you missed the party, you may get a glimpse of the excitement from pictures taken by our fellow alumni. However, nothing compares to the real experience, so don't miss out next year.

Last but not the least, wishing all of you a most prosperous and joyful Year of the Boar filled with success, love, peace, and happiness!

With warm regards,
